WOW - A CORVAIR SONG?!?

ORIGINAL POST DATE: May 18, 2005
Whoa! And I thought i had a fever! Here's a little number for ya - put together by Corvair owner Ryan Verthein way up in northern Minnesota. I know I know, the winters are long and lonely there, and lot of internal anti-freeze may have helped contribute to this tune's origin. hey, who says yukon jack won't get the creative juices flowing! btw, ryan will neither confirm nor deny that he wrote this tune while huddled in an ice-fishing shack on one of his state's beloved "10,000 lakes". Here's the link to song and lyrics, and here's hoping ryan's Corvair has a good heater!....ENJOY! CORVAIR SONG

YOGI HAD A CORVAIR? PICTURE PROVES IT!

ORIGINAL POST DATE: May 12, 2005
One of Yogi's most memorable moments came in 1959 on "Yogi Berra Day" at Yankee Stadium. Here Yogi is pictured with the many gifts given to him by his team and friends, displayed right on the field. He was most excited about receiving a brand new 1960 Chevrolet Corvair - he couldn't take his eyes off it! Just a great shot!

HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY YOGI!

and now, my 3 favorite corvair-related YOGI-isms (well, close enough anyway)....
3. "When you come to a fork in the road ... take it."
2. "The future ain't what it used to be."
1. "It gets late early out here."

THE DARK SHADY UNDERBELLY OF THE CORVAIR WORLD...IT'S ALL A LIE!

- Original Post Date: March 25, 2005
guess i got a thing for older cars - especially mid to late '60's american. i bought a '66 chevy corvair convertible 4 years ago - certainly no "classic", but at $2,500.00, hey! i could AFFORD it! the car's definitely got it's quirk's, but otherwise having a good time dinking around with it...have to say maybe the best by-product of owning the vair are the other corvair owner's i've met - a little quirky themselves, generally passionate about their vair's, but probably the nicest group of folks you'd ever want to know. hey, and they serve chocolate-covered strawberries at the monthly vintage corvair club meetings - another sweet by-product!

BIG FE-VAIR NEWS

so the big reason i ultimately, and reluctantly, decided to change blog addresses was the inability of the original host service to keep up with site maintenance, which, on my end, resulted in an insane amount of automated spam hits that all but shut down access to my page - maybe the corvair gods are trying to tell me something? on the other hand, the good news (at least for me) is i managed to access the original page and extract all the entries...so i'm planning to re-enter those entries onto this new site to help re-launch the thrill of the online fe-Vair! stay tuned!

and in the meantime, thanks bloggercrab, for helping Corvair-itis get off the ground. hope you'll be able to get your service cleaned up soon!

FOLLOWUP

ok, so the 1st entry looks ok...here's a followup just to see where it falls in the blog hierarchy...oh yeah, here's another corvair picture for good measure -this is one of the original greenbrier prototype designs...hey, what would corvair-itis be without one?

OPENING ENTRY

well, after waiting many months for my good friend bloggercrab to get his service back on line, i'm resigned to trying a new host for CORVAIR-ITIS...i'll play with this for a bit to see if i like it, then will e-notify my loyal readers...
